2 -- Allen 148: "Edward Bridge Dauson[sic] Jr. was born Mar. 22, 1916 in Glendale, Ohio. He was the third child of Edward Bridge and Anna Louise (Allen) Dauson. He graduated from the University of Arizona in 1940, with B.A. degree and from Harvard University, with M.A. and Ph.D. degrees. Edward Bridge Dauson Jr. was married Nov. 7, 1942 in Pasadena, Calif., to Jessica MacMaster. Jessica MacMaster was born Nov. 2, 1916. She attended Pasadena Junior College, Pasadena, Calif. Edward Bridge Dauson Jr. is Assistant Professor of Anthropology, at the University of Arizona, Tucson, Ariz."



5 -- Allen 146: "Anna Louise Allen was born Mar. 27, 1880, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the second child of William Mercer and Virginia Reakirt (Thompson) Allen of Cincinnati....Anna Louise Allen was married Nov. 7, 1907, in Glendale, Ohio, to Edward Bridge Dauson[sic]. Edward Bridge Dauson was born Nov. 2, 1862, in Egremont, England. He was the son of Richard and Frences Dauson of Egremont, England. Edward Bridge Dauson came to America in 1888 and became an American citizen in 1922. He was President of the Kemper-Thomas Calendar & Novelty Company, of Cincinnati, until his death, Feb. 1, 1927."



6 -- Johnston 47: "Lucille Johnston, married Eric McMasters who was born in 1887 and died Dec. 1965. He was with the British Consular Service. Their children are: (a) Jessica McMasters, married Edward Dawson..."



10 -- Allen 143-144: "William Mercer Allen...was born Feb. 25, 1853 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the first child of Thomas H. C. Allen by his first wife, Jane Deverdier Woodruff....William Mercer Allen was married Oct. 5, 1876 at Cincinnati, Ohio, to Virginia Reakirt Thompson....Virginia Reakirt Thompson was born Aug. 25, 1856. She was the daughter of Moses Franklin and Anna Reakirt Thompson of Cincinnati, Ohio....William Mercer Allen died Sept. 6, 1927, at his home in Glendale. His wife Virginia Reakirt (Thompson) Allen died Sept. 13, 1929 in Glendale. Both are buried in the Allen lot in Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati, Ohio."



14 -- Johnston 46: "Calvin Knox Johnston was born Sept. 21, 1850 and died Aug. 22, 1903 at Spokane, Wash. where he was in the real estate business. He was a graduate of Amherst College and studied for a while in Germany. In Dec. 1885 he married Harriet Brace and had three children..."



20 -- Allen 142-143: "Thomas Humphrey Cushing Allen...was born Sept. 21, 1822 in New London, Conn. He was the seventh child of Lewis and Mary Denison (Smith) Allen....Thomas H. C. Allen went in the spring of 1840, to reside in Salina, afterwards the First Ward of Syracuse, N.Y., at that time the great salt-mart of the West, but returned to New London, Conn., his native place, in 1842; he was in business there until the spring of 1848, when he went to Cincinnati, Ohio, and established the medicine business. After introducing 'Perry Davis' Pain Killer' throughout the West and Southwest, he bought out 'Allen's Lung Balsam' and introduced that throughout the United States and Canada and into some foreign countries....Thomas H. C. Allen was married June 1, 1852, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Jane Deverdier Woodruff....Jane Deverdier Woodruff was born Sept. 1, 1832 in Hartford, Conn. She was the daughter of Truman and Mary Woodruff....Jane Deverdier (Woodruff) Allen was an invalid for many years, and died Aug. 30, 1878, aged 45 years. She was buried in the Allen lot, Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnnati, Ohio....Thomas Humphrey Cushing Allen died July 15, 1900, at his summer cottage at Lakewood, N.Y., on Lake Chautauqua. He was buried in his lot in Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati, Ohio."



28 -- Johnston 38-39: "Samuel Power Johnston...., the second child of Nathan and Mary Black Johnston, was born near Armagh, Indiana County, Pa. on June 23, 1804 and he died in Logan County, Ohio on May 14, 1893. While still an infant he was taken by his parents to Harrison County, Ohio to the new Brush Run farm not far from the present town of Hopeville....Like his father and his brothers, he became an ardent abolitionist before the Civil War and his farm home became a 'station' on the 'underground railway' where escaping slaves could stop on their way to Canada and freedom....On Feb. 19, 1829 he married Eleanor M. Thompson of Cadiz, Ohio, not far from his home in Harrison County. She was born near Cayuga Lake, New York, on March 11, 1811."



29 -- Johnson 39: "Eleanor Margaret, married Samuel Power Johnston....Eleanor died at Belle Center, Ohio, on April 5, 1893; scarcely a month thereafter Samuel Johnston died. Both are buried in the Northwood cemetery."



40 -- Allen 22-23: "Lewis Allen...was born May 2, 1783 on his father's farm called 'The Mount Pleasant Estate' near New London, Conn. He was the third child of Thomas and Amelia (Taber) Allen Jr....Lewis Allen was married Sept. 18, 1805 to Mary Denison Smith....Mary Denison Smith was born July 20, 1789 in Pequonnoc (Groton) Conn. She was the eldest daughter of Denison and Waty Smith. Her father, Denison Smith was a merchant. He was the seventh child of Col. Oliver and Mary (Denison) Smith. Col. Oliver Smith married his own cousin, Mary Denison, who was the only child of Jabez and Waty (Burrows) Smith. Oliver and Jabez being brothers. Col. Oliver Smith was an officer in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. He was born Apr. 27, 1738 and died Aug. 11, 1811. His wife Mary (Denison) Smith died Sept. 17, 1800. Denison Smith died Dec. 27, 1860 at the age of 91 years. His lovely wife Waty, died Aug. 18, 1853, aged 83 years. Both were buried in Smith Lake Cemetery, Pequonnoc (Groton) Conn....Lewis Allen was a great sufferer for many years with cancer of the face. He died at his own home in Main Street [New London], May 3, 1844, aged 61 years. His wife died there Oct. 21, 1854, aged 65 years. They were both buried in his lot in Cedar Grove Cemetery, New London, Conn."

Allen preface: "All the descendants of Lewis Allen of Fisher's Island, are also descendants, through him, of the following Mayflower passengers: John Alden, William Brewster, Francis Cooke, and John Howland. They are also descendants of three Colonial Governors: Gurdon Saltonstall of Connecticut, and Governor Coddington and Peleg Sanford, of Rhode Island."



56 -- Johnston 24: "Nathan Johnston, the oldest child of Samuel and Mary Futhey Johnston, was born June 19, 1776 in Franklin County, Pa. He died Jan. 15, 1845 in Harrison County, Ohio, with burial in the old Beech Spring cemetery beside members of his wife's family. On Feb. 5, 1801 he married Mary Black, oldest daughter of James and Jane Stewart Black....She was born on June 26, 1782 in Adams County, Pa. and died on Dec. 18, 1855 in Logan County, Ohio, with burial in the old Northwood cemetery."



59 -- Johnston 39: "Jane Thomson was born near Carlisle, Pa. in 1777. In 1803 she married James Thompson, thereby adding one more letter to her last name. While living near Cayuga Lake, New York, three daughters were born..."



80 -- Allen 14-16: "Thomas Allen Jr....was born Sept. 10, 1755 in New London, Conn. He was the only son who lived of Thomas and Elizabeth (Christophers-Shackmaple) Allen Sr....Thomas Allen Jr. was married Apr. 23, 1778, to Amelia Taber. They were married in St. James' Church, New London, Conn....Amelia Taber was born Feb. 11, 1758 in New London, Conn. She was the fourth child of Pardon Taber by his second wife Elizabeth Harris....In 1830 Capt. Allen returned to the smaller Nightingale farm, where his wife Amelia died, Jan. 14, 1838, aged 79 years, from dropsy in the chest....Capt. Allen died May 16, 1842....He was buried beside his wife in Cedar Grove Cemetery, New London, Conn."



118 -- Johnston 39: Hugh Thomson was born in 1748 and married Jane Boyd early in 1770. Along with his parents, he took his bride to America and landed in Philadelphia, Pa. where his first child, Elizabeth, was born on Dec. 25, 1770. About two years thereafter he took his family and went with his father's family to the Cumberland Valley in Pennsylvania where the two families settled about twelve miles west of Carlisle. This was not long after the ravages of the Indians had subsided when Nathan Johnston and his wife were killed by Indians near Shippensburg. Here were born other children of Hugh and Jane Thomson and here his mother died. Her grave is in the old Presbyterian burial ground at Newville. When the Revolutionary War started Hugh Thomson enlist[t]ed as a private. After the close of the war he took his family, along with his father, to Maryland where they settled near Taneytown in Carrol County. Here the father, William Thomson, died on July 4, 1800 aged 89 years. Hugh Thomson and his wife also died here, he on May 9, 1812 aged 64 and his wife in 1829 aged 84 years. Their graves are in the old Piney Creek Presbyterian Churchyard."



160 -- Allen 13-14: "Thomas Allen...was born Sept. 19, 1728, in London, England. He was the third child of Nathaniel Allen and the first child by his second wife, Dorcas (Bowes) Allen. He came to Boston, New England, in 1734....Thomas Allen married Oct. 29, 1753, Elizabeth, the widow of John Shackmaple Jr. Elizabeth Christophers was born Sept. 13, 1714, in New London, Conn. She was the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth (Saltonstall) Christophers, and a granddaughter of Gov. Gurdon Saltonstall....Elizabeth (Christophers-Shackmaple) Allen died Aug. 5, 1783, aged 68....Thomas Allen Sr. died Nov. 19, 1783 in New London, Conn. He was sixty-five years old; he was buried in the 'Second Burying Ground.' In April 1853, his granddaughters Elizabeth Allen and Frances Taber Smith, bought a lot in Cedar Grove Cemetery and removed his remains to that place."



236 -- Johnston 39: "William Thomson was born in County Derry, Ireland, in 1711. In 1746 he married Jane Hanna and went to Belfast to live and where all ten of their children were born, the oldest being Hugh."



320 -- Allen 5: " Nathaniel Allen was born in London, England, in 1699....He married Dorcas Bowes, of London, for his second wife, about 1726-7....Nathaniel and Dorcas (Bowes) Allen, with their sons...came to Boston, New England, as early as 1734....Capt. Allen was a shop-keeper in Boston, some years....He moved to Shrewsbury, Mass. in 1757....Capt. Allen died in Shrewsbury, Mass. Nov. 1, 1770, aged 71 years, and was buried beside his sister. His widow, Dorcas (Bowes) Allen, moved to Leicester...died there April 1779, and was buried in her son's lot..."
