4 (32576) -- William Howell is often claimed to be a son of John ap Hywel by his wife Margaret Webb. This John ap Hywel appears in Peter Clement Bartrum, Welsh Genealogies AD 1400-1500 [Aberystwyth: National Library of Wales, 1983], table "Cowryd 4(A)" with a considerable amount of Welsh ancestry, but I have seen no evidence which would support the claim.

5 (32577) -- Anne Eyre was a sister of John Eyre of East Chalford, Wiltshire.

58 (260634) -- The ancestry usually provided for Geoffrey Dormer is fictitious. See Faris 16-17.

A Royal descent for Edward Howell was presented by Douglas Richardson in a message posted to the soc.genealogy.medieval Usenet newsgroup on 26 Feb. 2009.
